A narrative photograph is one that tell a story, or invites the viewer to create their own. This particular image could tell three. I am the individual in the back, I am also the one that is currently studying the art of photography. I love stories. I have loved photography since my photo from fifth grade camp. Where I captured the image of white swan on the pond in the Redwoods of Northern California. That was the day, when my father brought the film home. that I felt the exhilarating joy that came from getting that one shot, that you want to keep forever.

The camera collection is my fathers, he was a lover of photography. When he passed, I was able to receive his collection, or at least part.  Being able to capture this part of him and dwell for a moment with his collection and be in an space of curiosity.

I loved how Guster, my black cat was only partially in the image. Giving the invitation to wonder where he has gone, or to even relate to the elusive subjects we attempt to capture.

My fathers self portrait he took of himself in his photo class that he took late in his life, is sitting on the box on the right. This will be an image I will cherish.
